Growing Up in Beverly Hills

Born on October 21, 1980, in Beverly Hills, California, Kim Noel Kardashian is a model, reality television star, entrepreneur and socialite. She is the second of four children born to the late Robert Kardashian and his first wife, Kris. In recent years, the petite, dark haired beauty has garnered a Paris Hilton-like celebrity status thanks to her curvaceous style, a hit reality TV show, a string of workout DVDs, and last, but not least, a scandalous video showcasing her sexual exploits with former boyfriend, rapper Ray J.

Kardashian, it seems, is almost wired for fame. A preschool classmate of Paris Hilton, she grew up under the glare and privilege of Beverly Hills, getting an up-close view of Hollywood's pleasures and pitfalls. Her father, the founder of Movie Tunes, Inc., a music and marketing company, was a prominent attorney. A close friend for many years of O.J. Simpson, Robert was one of the football star's defense lawyers during his murder trial. In fact, it was the attorney's home that Simpson left during the famous Ford Bronco police chase shortly before his arrest. Robert Kardashian died from cancer of the esophagus in October 2003.

Kardashian's mother, Kris, a children's boutique shop owner and TV personality, travels in celebrity circles herself. In 1991, two years after divorcing Robert, she married 1976 Olympic star, Bruce Jenner. The couple has two children together.

According to Kardashian, her childhood was hardly the stuff of stardom. Sunday church was regular part of family life. So was the expectation among the Kardashian children that, once they each reached the age of 18, living off the family dime was no longer an option. While attending an exclusive Catholic girls' high school, Kim Kardashian worked for her father's company. When he died, the corporation was left to her and her siblings. They've since sold it. "We grew up with privilege so we knew our standards were high ... [and] if we wanted to keep it, we had to work hard," she once said.

For Kim Kardashian, that has translated into a number of different things, from wardrobe stylist to actress. She's even stepped into the business world herself, forming Kimsaprincess Productions, LLC., which has seen the release of three successful workout videos starring—you guessed it—Kim Kardashian.

In 2006, Kardashian went back into business with her family when she and her two sisters opened the boutique shop D-A-S-H (derived from the family's last name) in Calabasas, California. A showcase of the owners' own personal styles, the store features some of the sisters' favorite American designers.

Career
Around, 2003, she first came to limelight for her friendship with well-known socialite, Paris Hilton.
In 2007, she gained media attention after her sex tape with her ex-boyfriend, Ray J, taped in 2003, was leaked. She later filed a suit against Vivid Entertainment, who distributed the tape. She later dropped the suit for a settlement of 5 million.
From October 10, 2007, she and her other family members signed to star in the realty television show, 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians'. The show went on to become a huge success.
In 2008, she played the role of ‘Lisa’ in the spoof film, ‘Disaster Movie'. The same year, she also announced that she would take part in the realty dance show, ‘Dancing with the Stars'.

In April 2009, she came out with her DVD titled, ‘Fit in Your Jeans by Friday’, which was a workout DVD featuring trainers, Jennifer Galardi and Patrick Goudeau.

Later in 2009, she launched her own perfume named, 'Kim Kardashian'. In December that year, she was seen as a guest star on the TV series, ' CSI: NY', in which she appeared along with Vanessa Minnillo.
She later became part of the reality show, 'Kourtney & Kim Take Miami', a spinoff of the earlier, ' Keeping Up with the Kardashians'. She also appeared as herself in the series, ‘90210'.
From 2010 onwards, she signed many endorsement deals and appeared in the film, ‘Deep in the Valley'. She later produced the reality TV show, ‘The Spin Crowd'.
In 2011, she released another of her perfumes named, ‘Gold’ and her wedding fragrance, ‘Kim Kardashian Love'. That year, a two part series of her wedding preparations and her wedding was telecast.
Later in 2011, she became a part of the reality series 'Khlo & Lamar', appearing in three episodes. She was later seen in 18 episodes of the realty show, 'Kourtney and Kim Take New York'.

In 2013, she offered her voice in the adult animated series 'American Dad!'

Kim Kardashian West turns 35 this month and, by the end of what has been a momentous year in her life, she will be a three-times married mother of two.
She is no longer a woman obsessed with becoming more rich and famous. Instead she is beginning to use her celebrity and influence to make a difference.
Already, waspish commentators are suggesting that her 'crown' is being taken by her photogenic half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. They are half her age and, unsurprisingly, teenage girls can relate to them these days more than Kim.
She blogged: 'Every year I honour the memory of the martyrs who were killed during the 1915 Armenian Genocide.'
This didn't sound like the sort of issue that might concern a woman posting selfies to her 48million Instagram followers or sharing information online about her favourite salad or how to bleach your eyebrows.
Kim is proud of her Armenian heritage, following in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian, and his ancestors who fled the country during the First World War.

Kim Kardashian reveals struggles of having kids

Kim Kardashian has been seen with her son Saint for the first time.
The new mother and proud father Kanye West were pictured on an outing with their newborn and his big sister North, two.
Kim held Nori, as she is affectionately known, while Kanye took charge of Saint.

In a Wednesday blog post on her website, the famous 35-year-old mom of 2½-year-old daughter North and 2-month-old son Saint reported being awake, "pumping and delirious," at 4 a.m.

"I'm … hiding in my daughter's closet," reads the open line of her update, "because if she sees I snuck out of her bed, she will start to cry AND I think she gave me a cold so I figure no better time to write a #StraightUp [post] than now!"

Kardashian wrote that she and her husband, 38-year-old hip-hop star Kanye West, had been warned parenthood would take a dramatic turn with the arrival of a second child. Issuing one of those warnings was her own mother, Kris Jenner.

"My mom would always say, about having kids: 'One is like one, and two are like 20.' I never really understood that until now," the post reads. "It seemed like every time Kanye and I would go out, we would see couples — or really anybody that had kids — and everyone would say, 'Wait until you have two.' Like it's the end of the world! I remember Kanye and I would be like, '[What] are they talking about? Will our lives be the same? Are we going to be OK?!'"

Kardashian West "expected" it to be different, but admitted she didn't realize just how hard it would be to care for North and Saint at the same time.

Motherhood isn’t all that’s cracked out to be for Kim Kardashian.

In a new blog post shared on her app, the 35-year-old, who gave birth to a son in December, reveals exactly what it’s like taking care of two young children. Admitting that she’s writing her entry at 4 a.m. while “pumping and delirious,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star says she finally realizes why Kris Jenner has always told her having two kids feels “like twenty.”

“It seemed like every time Kanye [West] and I would go out, we would see couples—or really anybody that had kids—and everyone would say, ‘Wait until you have two.’ Like it’s the end of the world! I remember Kanye and I would be like, “WTF are they talking about? Will our lives be the same? Are we going to be OK?!” Kardashian muses. “Of course, I expected it to be different but, wow, it really is so hard!”

'They are lying. They are lying to you. I'm telling you,' she emphasised. 'Kourtney said that, my mum said that. I was literally giving birth and I looked at my mum and I said, "I'm going to get you a medal. You deserve everything."
'My labour was easy, but just the whole pregnancy was so... I had a few medical issues, so it was really tough, and I gained a lot of weight.'
She went on to admit that she started 'hysterically crying' after she began reading What To Expect When You're Expecting, which sister Kourtney gave her, saying it 'made it so much worse'.
'It was really hard mentally on me,' she admits of her pregnancy

Kim Kardashian 8-Year Love Story with Kimye

They met, they married, they've graced the covers of magazines and they've become one of the most divisive, discussed celebrity power couples of the 21st century. But lost somewhere between the haters and the hype is the notion that the love story of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian may just be the fairy-tale romance of our time.

Kanye West is an artist who doesn't shy away from expressing exactly what he's thinking at any given moment, for better (saying truth to power about society's ingrained racism) or worse (interrupting teenagers in the midst of accepting awards). But there's always been a greater sadness that followed West around, particularly after the untimely death of his mother in 2007, and a sense that he was always searching for the right person to help rule his self-proclaimed kingdom. Finally, he found her — the perfect pop-culture princess.

Kardashian and her family are usually dismissed as, at best, "famous for being famous" and, at worst, shameless social climbers responsible for the decline of Western civilization. But Kim has built an unimpeachable brand and a business empire to match. Refusing to be waylaid by a sex tape, a highly-publicized marriage and divorce or a child born out of wedlock, Kardashian eschews the shame that's heaped on her. She advocates for recognition of the Armenian genocide and is a frequent proponent of selfies as a tool of female empowerment. She's found in West a man to spur her to be better in each aspect of her life — and he's found the same. The pair are not only well-matched, but also seem to be truly, madly, deeply crazy in love.

So let's take a look at how a rap genius and a reality TV star-turned-cultural icon ended up falling in love, infuriating critics, defying the odds, and breaking the Internet. We present a timeline of West and Kardashian's romance — from flirting and courting to the coronation of the phenomenon known as "Kimye."

2004-2006

West and Kardashian meet and became friends in 2004, when she was still married to her first husband, music producer Damon Thomas. Two years later in 2006, West saw a photo of Kardashian while vacationing with then-close friend Paris Hilton and claims that was the first time he was genuinely smitten. "I remember I saw a picture of her and Paris Hilton," the musician told Ryan Seacrest in a radio interview, "and I remember telling my boy, 'Have you seen that girl Kim Kar-dijon?'"

Kim—after her second divorce—was of course a little hesitant going in. "But then in my head I was like, 'You know what? Screw it. Like, this is probably what I've been waiting for, it's been in front of my face.'" One gorgeous wedding and adorable child later, the two are still going strong. Ah, love. Worth the wait, every moment of it.

It's a tale as old as time; a love story for the ages; a collision of two of the biggest forces in the history of pop culture, combining for love. Of course, this is the story of Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West's relationship — a story riddled with fate, surprise and even Star Wars.

In a new interview with the U.K.'s Fabulous magazine, the reality star and mom-to-be, 32, admits that she and Kanye West, 35, deal with their personal lives much differently in the public eye.

"I'm definitely more of a recluse since I was pregnant. But I haven't necessarily decided to hold myself back, it's just preparing myself for respecting the privacy of my child and my boyfriend," Kardashian tells the magazine, adding of West, "We live different lives, but I love being open. That's who I've always been. That will never change because that is who I am."

Still, Kardashian admits she is concerned about raising her child in the spotlight.
